Title
Growers Picket Strikers
Caption
Delano, CA: March 12, 1966. First Grape Stike by National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) and AWOC. Growers' wives and supporters picket an outdoor mass held by the grape strikers. Sign: What does our Lady of Guadalupe have to do with a labor strike? Strikers began holding outdoor masses at the grape fields after growers obtained an injunction forbidding picketing. This particularly incensed the growers who were mostly Catholics, themselves.
